Character Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Character Canon: Trigun Stampede
Canon Point: After episode 10, "Humanity."

Age: Appears to be late twenties, physically-- before the events of the series, Wolfwood aged rapidly from adolescence to adulthood after medical experimentation.

Crime: Betrayal

Background: wiki link

Personality:
Wolfwood's first impression on others is an extroverted, sarcastic conman with a penchant for teasing and intentionally getting on people's nerves. This is largely a mask that he wears to keep a distance between himself and others-- as a child, he was taken from the orphanage that he grew up in and subjected to experiments that both rapidly aged him and essentially turned him into a weapon for the Eye of Michael, a cult that worships Vash's twin brother Millions Knives as an "angel." He served the Eye of Michael as an assassin, killing traitors, defectors, and anyone else they deemed an obstruction of their goal. Because of this, he finds it difficult to form relationships beyond a superficial level, and tries to push people (like Vash) away if they start to take any interest in him.

Beyond the facade, Wolfwood is short-tempered, sharp-tongued, and stubborn. He doesn't pretend to be friendly, but on the flipside, he doesn't try to pick fights and get under others' skin like he would when first meeting them, and he comes off much more honest without that wall up. He regularly compares other characters to monsters-- Rollo, another child that was experimented on, his childhood best friend Livio who has also ended up with the Eye of Michael, and even Vash-- and it's clear in the way he speaks of them that he actually thinks of himself as a monster that is beyond saving, and that it would be kinder to put him down.

Wolfwood tries to come off as caring about nothing and no one, but in truth, he cares too much. He wants to protect the orphanage that raised him, and all the kids that live there. He also can't bring himself to hurt Livio, his childhood friend, who now has little consciousness beyond following instructions and carrying out assassinations. During an altercation, Wolfwood is forced to fight Livio, or risk Vash's life and the destruction of the orphanage. He insists to Vash that it's impossible to save everyone, and therefore the decision must be made between who to kill and who to let live-- it's why Wolfwood continues to work as an assassin for the Eye of Michael, because if he were to leave or let himself die, another child would be taken from the orphanage as a test subject in his place. But Vash is adamant that it is possible to save everyone, and in his desperation he opens his heart enough to trust Vash and let him try to save the things most important to Wolfwood.

After that moment, there's a shift in Wolfwood's outlook, and he clearly grapples with the morality that he's tried to divorce himself from. His purpose in accompanying Vash is to lead him to his brother, Knives, who Wolfwood assumes intends to kill or harm Vash. The agreement is that if he completes this mission, there will be no more test subjects taken from the orphanage. In spite of the guilt he feels, and the fact that he's gotten closer with Vash and their other travel companions, Wolfwood delivers a willing Vash to the city July, where Knives is waiting.

Abilities:
Wolfwood doesn't have any supernatural powers, but he was a test subject of medical experimentation with the aim of making the human species more durable and able to survive on a desert planet. As a result, his physical strength surpasses normal human levels, and he doesn't have any problem carrying his roughly-300lb weapon in one hand while he totes a 4'11" woman under his other arm. He's extremely skilled with his weapon, the cross-shaped laser machine gun The Punisher.

Inventory:
His weapon, The Punisher
•5 vials containing a regenerative serum-- they are single-use and heal all physical injuries such as gunshot wounds, broken bones, etc.
•A pack of cigarettes
A lighter with sentimental value
•An "Invoice" memo pad

Samples: sample 1 sample 2

Questions: he does technically carry the punisher around by hand... but if it's too much of a stretch for him to have it, i understand!
